Upcoming Change to Fannie Mae's Single-Family and Multifamily MBS and Structured Transaction Original Issue Fedwire Instructions

As of July 30, 2018, Fannie Mae plans to issue single-family and multifamily securities backed by fixed-rate and adjustable-rate mortgage loans or bonds through updated Mortgage-Backed Security (MBS) Fedwire Instructions. The changes are identified below with an asterisk.

Single-Family
Fannie Mae will be populating the Reference data field in our Single-Family MBS and Structured Transaction Original Issue Fedwire Instructions with an account number. Although this Fannie Mae Original Issue Fedwire Instructions update should not require any changes for our Single-Family lenders and your Fedwire clearing institutions, we want to make you aware of the additional information in Fannie Mae’s Original Issue Fedwire Instructions.

Multifamily
In addition to populating the Reference data field in our Multifamily MBS and Structured Transaction Original Issue Fedwire Instructions with an account number, Fannie Mae will utilize a new Fedwire Original Issue Account (ISSUER3). This account will be referenced as the Receiver Sub Account when Fannie Mae issues Multifamily MBS and Structured Transactions effective July 30, 2018.

As part of Fannie Mae's separation of Multifamily MBS and Structured Transactions from Single-Family, we are also changing the security paying agent account number. For all outstanding Fannie Mae Multifamily MBS and Structured Transactions, as of close of business on July 27, 2018, we will use the updated security paying agent account number (021050521) when we pay principal and interest on the 25th of each month.
