Fannie Mae Releases Projected Environmental and Social Impacts for 2023 Green and Social Bonds

Impact from Fannie Mae Green and Social Bonds (2012-2023)

Fannie Mae has released projected cumulative and one-year impacts of Multifamily green and social bonds and Single-Family green bonds issued in 2023, providing investors with transparency into the environmental and social impacts of our bonds. A CUSIP-level file, cumulative for green and social bonds issued 2012-2023, is also available that details at-issuance projected environmental and social impacts for each security.

From inception, projected cumulative impacts of the green and social bond program include an average utility cost savings of $231 per single-family home per year and an average utility cost savings by multifamily tenants of $188 per family per year.

Fannie Mae was also recently named the Largest Green Asset-Backed Security Issuer of 2023 by the Climate Bonds Initiative.
