Fannie Mae to Enhance its Credit Risk Transfer Disclosures
On December 26, 2023, Fannie Mae will enhance its credit risk transfer (CRT) disclosures by adding two new attributes to provide increased transparency to assist in the analysis of our Connecticut Avenue Securities® (CAS) and Credit Insurance Risk Transfer™ (CIRT™) programs. The new attributes are listed below:
- Payment Deferral Modification Event Indicator: An indicator that denotes if a payment deferral is contributing to a modification event.
- Interest Bearing UPB: The current actual outstanding unpaid principal balance (UPB) of the mortgage loan less any non-interest bearing UPB resulting from an eligible modification event.
The new attributes will be populated starting with the December 2023 remittance report (October 2023 activity) available in both the CAS and CIRT sections of Data Dynamics®.
The CRT File Layout and Glossary reflects the upcoming new data attributes and definitions.
We will also enhance our Single-Family Historical Loan Performance Dataset in January 2024 to include the new attributes.
