Fannie Mae Publishes Projected Impacts for 2024 Social and Green Bonds

October 7, 2025

Fannie Mae has published projected impacts of its social and green bonds issued in 2024, providing investors with transparency into the impact of their investments and fulfilling reporting commitments outlined in its Social and Green Bond Frameworks. The file, now cumulative for social and green bonds issued 2012-2024, details at-issuance social impacts and projected impacts resulting from energy and water efficiencies.

Our 2024 single-family social bonds financed 45,000 single-family loans supporting low-income borrowers, first-time homebuyers, and more. Among the multifamily rental units financed by our 2024 social bond issuances, 70,000 were affordable to households earning less than or equal to 60% area median income. Projected impacts of green bonds issued in 2024 include an average utility cost savings of $274 per single-family home per year and an average utility cost savings by multifamily tenants of $196 per household per year.
